On June 26, German pyrolysis company Pyrum announced that it had obtained approval from the local government to start construction of its second waste tire pyrolysis plant in Germany ahead of schedule. Pyrum's second plant is expected to break ground in July and is scheduled to be put into production in the first quarter of 2027. The German plant, called Pyrum Green Factory, will be built in Perl-Besch, Germany, near the border between Luxembourg, Germany and France, with an annual processing capacity of 22,400 tons of waste tires.
