Silicon Carbide Fiber

Silicon carbide fiber is a high-performance ceramic fiber which has antioxidant property at high temperature, high hardness, high tenacity, high thermal stability, anticorrosion and low density property etc.

The fiber production process mainly adopts pre-somatic transformation method which including pre-somatic synthetic, melting & spinning, infusible treatment and sintering at high temperature, and it is a widely production method at present and suitable for industrial production with mature technology, high production efficiency and low cost.

The manufacturing principle of pre-somatic transformation method is to synthesize pre-somatic (polycarbosilane) from high polymer which containing target element, then the pre-somatic is spun to organic fiber, at last the organic fiber is cross-linked into inorganic ceramic fiber.

Silicon carbide fiber multifilament includes Zeralon200 doped silicon carbide fiber multifilament and Zeralon3A aluminum-doped silicon fiber multifilament.

Application:

Zeralon200 silicon carbide fiber has excellent properties such as low density,high tenacity and modulus,creep resistance,abrasion resistance,corrosion resistance,high temperature resistance and antioxidant etc., under 1200℃high temperature environment, its mechanical properties basically remain unchanged and in aerobic environment the using temperature fa exceeds carbon fiber.


Silicon carbide fiber is mainly used in aviation and aerospace fields, such as in high-temperature-resistant components including aero-engine blades, regulating chambers, combustion chambers, and thermal insulation screens.

Zeralon3A silicon carbide fiber has excellent properties such as thinner diameter, high crystallinity, high temperature resistance, abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance etc., under 1800℃high temperature environment, the tensile retention rate exceeds 90%.


Zeralon3A silicon carbide fiber can be used in nuclear power, aviation and aerospace fields, nuclear fuel cladding tube, aero-engine blades, combustion chamber and aerospace thermal structure etc.
